Kazakhstan vs Denmark
World Cup Qualifiers – Europe (Group E)
Date: Saturday, 10th June 2017
Kick off at 17:00 UK/ 18:00 CET
Venue: Ortaliq Stadion.

Kazakhstan have never exactly been world footballing superpowers, but since their last qualification campaign they do seem to have declined a bit more in terms of quality and currently find themselves rooted to the bottom of their World Cup qualification group with just two points from their five games so far.

Their last outing was a disappointing 2-0 defeat away to Armenia, a result which made it three defeats on the trot for them, one of which was a 4-1 thrashing in Copenhagen at the hands of Saturday’s opponents.

Kazakhstan’s last victory came just over a year ago when they beat China away from home, and since then they have lost five and drawn two of their seven games, failing to score in four of them.

At home their winless record stretches even further back. They haven’t won on home soil since September 2014, losing four of their nine matches there since. Considering their draws in this time were largely against much weaker sides (their 2-2 draw with Poland aside) Denmark should feel rather confident about their chances on Saturday.

The visitors were minutes away from a home win against Germany in midweek before Joshua Kimmich scored a late equaliser, but that performance will have undoubtedly buoyed the team, despite extending their winless run to three matches.

Denmark are currently 3rd in the group, but are only behind Montenegro on goal difference. They will be keen to make it to Russia next summer after narrowly missing out on Euro 2016 last year.

Away from home it’s been a long time since they claimed victory, but against a side of Kazakhstan’s quality, they will be expected to end that run on Saturday. Denmark still aren’t the highest scorers around though, with seven of their last ten away games ending with fewer than three goals. Given that Kazakhstan will set up defensively on Saturday I think backing a Denmark Win and Under 2.5 Goals at 21/10 is a good option, alongside a 1-0 correct score predictions at 9/2.

Kazakhstan vs Denmark: Head to head

Denmark did not have any troubles in previous three meetings with the Hawks as they took comprehensive wins with the total goal differential of 9-2.

The encounter from this term of qualifications has seen a demolishing 4-1 win for the Danes with Cornelius, Ankersen and Eriksen (a brace) on target.

Kazakhstan vs Denmark: Prediction

Denmark are massive favourites and everything but a confident win for the visiting side would represent a major upset here.

We’ll back Danes with maximum stakes, while the braver punter can go for the HT/FT option as well.
