Match preview Hoffenheim vs Borussia Dortmund
Hoffenheim have started to fade after a run of five wins between October and November, with their 2-0 win over Union Berlin last time ended the streak of four games without a win.
Without victory, including one draw and three defeats, conceding a total of 12 times in the three losses, despite scoring four of their own in running it.
This has contributed to a poor defensive record, with their tally of 27 goals shipped in 16 games the worst of any side in the top of the table.
Hoffenheim will not, then, enjoy the prospect of hosting Dortmund, which is the third highest scorer in the division with 40 goals so far.
Dortmund have navigated a slow start to the season and are now unbeaten in five league games, losing just once in their last 13 in the competition.
However, Lucien Favre's side have drawn too much for their liking, which is held six times this season, and four points off the pace set by Leipzig and Borussia Monchengladbach.
Dortmund have also, like Hoffenheim, disappointed defensive, with the second-worst record along the defensive in the top half of the Bundesliga.
In fact, they have conceded three goals or more in three of their last six games, which resulted in two draws and a loss, while total shipments only one in the other three fixtures in the run and won respectively.

Prediction
Hoffenheim played on the second Friday in a row on either side of the final outing before the termination of the winter.
Both teams will go all out for victory, but after losing their last two at home - for Mainz 5-1 and 4-2 to Augsburg - it would be a surprise if Hoffenheim can turn around the downward trend.
Depressed after a disappointing two times frittering away the lead against the league leaders Leipzig in midweek, it will be a difficult game for BVB, especially if in the form of Jadon Sancho ruled out.
