Italy – Serie A
Date: Friday, 6 December 2019
Kick-off at 19:45 UK / 20:45 CET
Venue: Stadio Giuseppe Meazza – San Siro (Milan).
Perhaps no one should be surprised that Conte, who guided Chelsea to the Premier League title during his first season in charge, threatening to do something similar at Inter.
After a few years in the wilderness after the reign of Jose Mourinho, Inter appoint 13 different managers since the departure of the Portuguese in 2010, Conte has instilled some genuine pedigree and stability to this side.
That they just failed to win two of their 14 Serie A outings this term is very solid evidence base where this team is built.
However, despite the general perception Conte as manager conservative, Inter performances this season have been much hallmarked by building from the back, working the ball quickly through midfield and into the lethal pair Romelu Lukaku and Lautaro Martinez.
Most teams like Napoli in 2018, which is close to Juventus tend to fall, unable to maintain the same level of more than nine months, but this Inter team under Conte feels different.
Although not on the same scale as Inter, Roma also claimed to enjoy the start made under Fonseca, appointed during the summer following a disappointing 2019-20 campaign in which they finished sixth in the table.
Sit just two points behind third-placed Lazio, Roma performances in Serie A this season has been, above all, interesting to watch, with the side take four red cards since the end of September.
There is a young, vibrant feel about this team, with the likes of Patrick Kluivert and Nicolo Zaniolo either completes the experience Edin Dzeko and Javier Pastore.
At the rear, the Manchester United loanee Chris Smalling, deemed surplus to requirements by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer under pressure, has become one of the club's star player, adds to the feeling that this was a side built on new faces and improved.
The victory at the San Siro, however, would be the greatest achievement of this Fonseca administration as far as Rome aims to consolidate their position in the Champions League.
Inter Milan vs Roma: Predictions
Inter Milan back at the top of the Serie A table after a 2-1 win over Gli Spalini. This time, it's Romelu Lukaku partner in crime, Lautaro Martinez, who stole the show by bagging a brace in the first half.
With eye-catching record of 12 wins, 1 draw and 1 defeat so far, the Nerazzurri, while riding a five-game winning streak, one point ahead of Juventus and seven points clear of Lazio.
Scudetto contenders have a 5-1-1 record at the Giuseppe Meazza stadium this season, averaging 1.86 goals per game, while conceding 0.86. They have won their last two home fixtures and more than 70% of their games at this point has more than 2.5 goals.
Sanchez, Gagliardini and Barella is certain to host; Sensi is unlikely to make the bench.
Giallorossi in good form of their own, winning five of their last six games. After defeating Instanbul Basaksehir 3-0 in the all-important Europa League match in Turkey, he Paulo Fonseca went on to claim the three points in Marc'Antonio Bentegodi vs impressive newcomer, Hellas Verona. With 28pts for their names, Roma occupy the 5th place in the Serie A ladder.
The team from the capital has recorded four wins, two draws and one loss on their travels so far, netting 1.57 goals per game and 0.71 shipping. They have scored 10 goals in the last four away matches in all competitions.
Cristante Zappacosta and long-term absentees for the visit, Pastore is very doubtful for the trip, Kluivert will be evaluated.
Both sides have been involved in some high scoring games recently and I hope to see more of the same on Friday.
Although Roma boast a fantastic defensive record on the road, admits less than one goal per game, I'm sure they will not be able to contain one of the league's best attacking duos - Lukaku and Martinez has scored 18 of Inter's 31 goals this season.
results of head-to-head and new forms of highly suggest Nerazzurri goal at both ends, and it will be my second bet here.
